Terry's Thoughts July 2022
Going into June, many were hopeful that the Supreme Court would rule appropriately on Roe vs. Wade, thus ending the perceived “right” (which it is NOT) by many to kill the unborn even up until actual birth in some cases. Fortunately, they did rule appropriately, stating (paraphrase) “abortion is not a right, but rather a choice, therefore it is a state matter.” While we celebrate this decision for life, the battle is still not over. We must continue to pray for those caught up in the difficult decisions of whether to terminate a life or perhaps give that same life up to a loving family for adoption. The following are some ways we can pray and participate: (as provided by the BSCNC)
Pray. 1. Continue to pray that legislators will craft and strengthen laws to protect unborn lives. 2. Pray for compassion and care to abortion-minded mothers and fathers who are facing difficult circumstances. 3. Pray for ministries like the Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina, who provide adoption and foster care services as alternatives to abortion. |
Respond. 1. Adopt or foster. |
2. Volunteer to serve. |
3. Give to support life-saving initiatives. We can participate, as mentioned above, locally by supporting the ministries of the Ahoskie Family Resource Center, who are involved in the task of saving lives, ministering to mothers and families, and supporting those families even after the birth. Please make every effort to do so through your local missions’ efforts. Let us stand on the truth of His word and do all we can to protect life and not get into the business of determining who lives or doesn’t live. That is, after all, His business! Terry
